    Best is hard to say.

    I have used

    Startlogic.com
    Dreamhost.com
    Webfaction.com

it’s all based on your learning curve.

They are all around 100.00 per year. I suggest paying per year.

Depends on your purpose. You can get a great site with all sorts of servers, databases, blog tools, and a nice email server for your own web name for about $7 a month (http://www.siteground.com).

You might want to look at http://www.netcraft.com for the top 10 sites for uptime. The only windows site that ever makes it is Godaddy. The rest are BSD or linux sites.

But if you want to build a site with complex applications or experiment with various Python or Ruby based web frameworks (ultra-rapid development with enterprise capabilities), you want at least a Virtual Private Server. The best prices and facilities I have seen for that is http://www.webintellects.com . Expect to pay about $85/quarter. Prices for the same services on a VPS go well past 300/quarter in the market.

I’ve used 4 web hosts already, and so far, hostgator is my primary choice.. I used it for my sites, http://www.news2buzz.com and mapiles.com, to know more about the package, visit http://secure.hostgator.com/cgi-bin/affiliates/clickthru.cgi?id=joliber

    Hi,
I would recommend “IX WebHosting” because it’s very cheap and reliable. Their support service is awesome. This company offers site building tools, application vault, web mail, antivirus, Php, MysQL and hosts unlimited websites in one plan. Don’t go for free web hosting. They are not reliable. Check it out here:

The answer to your question really depends on exactly what you wantto host and what kind of features you need. For example, do you need to use cgi scripts, or a specific shopping cart? Or is it more important that the host has as close to 100% uptime as possible and great customer service.

Do you want a free domain name? Or would you rather pay less for the hosting.

In general, you’ll get better customer service from the bigger companies, such as GoDaddy and HostGator. Before you make a decision, I’d recommend drawing up a list of priorities and then finding out which hosts offer the features you need.

You can read reviews of the top hosts at http://www.discountedwebhosting.net and get a coupon for 1 cent hosting at HostGator at: http://www.discountedwebhosting.net/secret-hostgator-coupon-creator.html

I would say use web hosting with cpanel and fantastico. It really saves you alot of time when you are installing scripts or using any software in the control panel.

Some good web hosting companies are hostgator, hostmonster, eleven2, thinkhost, eboundhost etc to name a few.

Better ones would be Hostmonster and Thinkhost.

The really value for money I had go with eboundhost.just $3.95/month but you get all the bells and whistles like unlimited bandwidth, unlimited domains. And uptime is 99%.

I’ve been using Wired Together http://wiredtogether.ca and they have great service.

Never go with a host that has unlimited space and bandwidth because there is no such thing as unlimited.

It is better that you can buy a new domain name instead of buying the old one. But transfering the domain doesn’t make any difference. And you can register a domain or transfer domain or renew the domain from tucktail at a cheaper cost of $1.99 offer from http://www.tucktail.com/

If your hosting needs are modest, and you want low cost, consider:

    http://www.webfusion.com
    or
    http://www.1and1.com

Both companies offer low cost and premium hosting very inexpensively.

    Hope this helps.
